Michigan’s 14th Congressional District connects voters in the predominantly Black cities of Pontiac and Detroit with this zig-zag. Probably just a coincidence...

Texas’s 35th Congressional District (TX-35) goes 80 miles from Austin to San Antonio to pack each city’s respective Black and Latinx voters into one long, thin, Democratic district. Despite multiple federal court rulings that it was drawn “based on race” and is “an impermissible racial gerrymander”, the U.S. Supreme Court allowed it to stand in 2018.

Called “the praying mantis” and “the pinwheel of death”, Maryland’s 3rd Congressional District is so badly gerrymandered to hurt the state’s Republican voters that we couldn’t make it into jewelry (it kept breaking). So here’s a photo of it.

Introducing Ohio’s 1st Congressional District (OH-1). This beauty tacks on Warren County (the square) to make sure Hamilton County (the weird shape with Cincinnati) always goes Republican.
